Skis available January 4th, 2023
- The Cochrane Public Library offers lending for cross-country skis, boots, poles, and snowshoes.
All you need is a FREE library card to access this material. Equipment can for a period of up to one week. The equipment is available in both junior and adult sizes.
As a reminder, those who choose to use the Cochrane Cross Country Ski Club’s trails will need to purchase a day pass or yearly membership.
This ski and snowshoe lending program was made possible by the Town of Cochrane Doable Neighbourhood Program and was funded by the Ontario Sport and Recreation Communities Fund in 2018.
Interested in lending equipment? Please fill out the below form and you will be contacted when your equipment is ready for pick up. Loan periods are 7 days starting the date you are contacted. No extensions are available.

What do I need? You will require a library card in good standing.

Can I reserve winter equipment?
Due to the high demand for outdoor winter equipment, we are not taking reservations. Your online order will be placed in sequence as they are received. Your order will be filled as equipment becomes available to lend out. Please be patient with us as there are many requests coming in.
Ordering:
Snowshoes – Need your weight.
Skis – Need your height in feet & your boot size.
Fill out the below form.
Pick Up:You have 24 hours after you are contacted by the library to pick up your equipment. This is also day 1 of your 7-day loan period. If your equipment is still here after 24 hours, it will be checked out to the next patron in line.
Returning: Return equipment to the inside of library entrance. Staff will check snowshoe inventory to your loan and for any damages.
How long can I borrow the winter equipment?
Equipment can be borrowed for one week. No renewals.
Due to the high demand, unfortunately we will not be renewing orders. Patrons can request to borrow the equipment again after a one week borrowing cycle. You can always try the other outdoor equipment in the meantime.
If you are requesting multiple sets of equipment, please ensure every person has a library card. 1 set of equipment available per card.
