Connections: the mural

We are so excited to celebrate the completion of our new mural, Connections, by local artist Katherine Roy.
This mural represents the connections that can be found in community libraries – connections to our community, the natural world, knowledge, technology, and ourselves.
We started with an aged, weather-hardened landscape of driftwood and surrounded it with soft, comforting moss.
The idea of the deep foundations of the library is represented along with the welcoming nature of this learning environment.
We populated the space with people enjoying the myriad of amenities the library has to offer.
The experience causes the minds of the people to bloom with local plants and creatures.
Granite and gemstones are dispersed throughout to show all the treasures waiting to be discovered. Everything is connected through the magical mycelium network.
